Engineering is all about experimenting

Today I started building my homelab server. I did this based on the blog post of the Packetpushers. I want this server to be able to run ESXi (6) hypervisor as hypervisor and be cool and quiet. Will keep you posted on the progress 😉

Until now my bill of materials is as follows:

Case: Fractal Design Node 304

Power Supply: be quiet! Pure Power L8 CM 430W

Motherboard: ASRock C2750D4I

Memory: 32 GB (4×8) Kingston ValueRAM KVR16N11H/8

Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 500GB (for vmware host cache), VMs on NAS using NFS
